Note If recording a video call, it will only record the person on the other end of the call.

Place check marks into the Turn on logging in Lync and Turn on Windows Event logging in Lync boxes.

After you install the Lync client on your lab client machines, open the options window and select General.

Note Remember, if you are presenting during your session, Windows users will also need to install the 32-bit Lync update package to enable the recording of presentations on the video file. On our client machines letвЂ™s make sure we turn on logging in the Lync client. Participants usings Windows can record the conversation on behalf of the Mac user. Note Mac users do NOT have the recording option.

In the Microsoft Lync for Mac sign-in window, click Sign In. In both the Internal Server Name box and the External Server Name box, type or paste :443. Under Connection Settings, click Manual configuration. To record the conversation, click on menu button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. Under Authentication, clear the Use Kerberos check box.

Click on the phone icon to make an audio call or click on the movie camera icon to make a video call.This will open the student in a new pop-up window, here you can type a chat message (to check they are available).Double-click on the name of the student in the search results that appear.In the Find Someone field, type in the name of the student you would like to contact.It's a good idea to set up you headset (microphone) and/or webcam by clicking on Options in the top righthand corner and configuring the audio/video device.Sign in with your Deakin username and password.Open Skype for Business from the Start menu on your computer.Plug your headset with a microphone into your computer (and/or your webcam if making a video call).Only the person who clicked 'Record' will have access to the recording to download etc.If making a video call, both particpants can use a webcam but the recording will only capture and play back the person at the other end (i.e.It will not be ideal for you to have to record the conversation again if something does not turn out as you expect
